Hi, hi, hi, hi, and hi! As you can see, we are five of the cutest fuzzballs this side of the Cascades, and we are true survivors! We came to SCRAPS after being exposed and losing siblings to a very feared and contagious kitty virus called Panleukopenia. In most shelters around the country, we would have been euthanized, but we lucked out! Thanks to the Hope Foundation’s funding of SCRAPS’ volunteer and foster program, we were able to spend time in temporary homes of our own until any fear of our breaking with or transmitting the virus was moot, and we then found permanent homes of our own! Thanks to the Hope Foundation, we were fortunate to be found in Spokane County, and we know it!

Eye there! Sorry, bad pun, but I couldn’t resist. J My name is Aisha, and I’m described as the sweetest, gentlest, kindest of souls; oh yeah, and I’m told I have the most beautiful eye—I used to have two, but, by the time I was picked up and taken to SCRAPS, my left eye had been damaged beyond repair. My doctor told me that my bad eye had to be removed as soon as possible and that it would be expensive, but, boom!, before I knew it, my eye was out, and I was feeling better! I later learned that the funding for my surgery was provided by the Hope Foundation, so, yeah, the Hope Foundation totally saved my life! Eye I thank you all!
Hi, my name is Beatrice, and I’m the cutest little darling you’ll ever find romping around on three legs! I arrived at SCRAPS earlier this year with a shattered front leg, and I didn’t know what the future held for me; like you, I’d heard rumors about shelters, and I knew that the surgery I needed was major. But, from the moment I arrived, everyone I met told me I was going to be ok, that they’d take care of me, and they did. Within one day of my arrival, SCRAPS’ veterinarian removed my injured leg, and I found myself in the company of a human kind enough to take me in during my recovery. Today, I’m a happy, healthy, active, adopted(!) cat, and I’m here to thank all of you who donate to the Hope Foundation—your compassion and generosity is the reason I’m here today. Thank you for recognizing that I matter and for being there for me when I was at my lowest. <3 |
